Mariorenzi running for School Committee in North Providence

NORTH PROVIDENCE – As a proud member of the North Providence School Committee since last March, says Anthony Mariorenzi, he remains committed “to supporting the students, families, and educators of our community through meaningful progress and continued investment in our schools.”

During his time on the school board, he said he has proudly supported several major initiatives that are helping move the district forward, including:

• The development of all brand-new elementary schools to provide students with modern, safe, and innovative learning environments.

• The implementation of new high-quality curricula in English Language Arts, mathematics, and science to strengthen academic achievement across all grade levels.

• Significant improvements in student attendance, ensuring that more students are consistently engaged in the classroom and obtaining the education they deserve.

• Comprehensive teacher training in the Science of Reading and Right to Read initiatives, helping educators better support literacy and early reading success for every child.

• Supporting the district’s social emotional learning initiatives because it is critically important that our children feel safe, supported, well-fed, and emotionally and physically secure. When students have those supports in place, they are empowered to learn, grow, and succeed at higher levels, he said.

“I have always believed that serving on the School Committee means being present, accessible, and engaged with the community,” said Mariorenzi, of District 2. “I make every effort to attend public events, school functions, and community activities because staying connected to our families and residents matters.”

He added, “I will continue to remain easily accessible to the people I represent. Listening to concerns, answering questions, and advocating for our students will always remain my top priorities. It would be an honor to continue serving the students and their families of our town, and I look forward to the continued support of the District 2 constituents as we continue working together to strengthen our schools and build an even brighter future for North Providence students.”
