LINCOLN – Developers behind a 28-unit housing project on Wilbur Road haven’t formally submitted any plans just yet, according to officials.
Some residents are mobilizing against the Wilbur Park project at 92 Wilbur Road, including a change.org petition by Andy Brown with 147 signatures.
“We’re trying to demonstrate to both the town and the developers that this proposal doesn’t fit what Lincoln should be,” states Brown in a post. “Am I alone in thinking we should have a say in how our neighborhood changes?”
Concerns by residents about the affordable housing project generally revolve around overdevelopment in an already dense part of town near North Central State Airport, existing excessive traffic that would grow worse, strains on resources, and reduced safety.

Town Planner Stephanie Davies told The Local Insider it would be premature for her to discuss the merits of the proposal, as nothing has been filed. The sketch that’s been circulating was for a preliminary discussion with the applicant and his attorney, she said.
“I understand that they may file a pre-application or master plan in the coming weeks,” she said.
The sketch shows four units of three bedrooms apiece and covering 2,000 square feet each, six units with three bedrooms and covering 1,750 square feet apiece, and 18 two-bedroom cottages at 1,000 square feet apiece. Total square footage of all units is 35,600 square feet, not including garages.
To get on the July agenda, the developer would need to submit an application by June 8.
