GLOCESTER – The Glocester Police Department’s K-9 Unit played a critical role in the successful apprehension of a domestic violence suspect following a coordinated search with the Foster Police Department and several assisting agencies.
On the evening of Friday, July 17, at around 11 p.m., the Glocester Police Department was requested by the Foster Police Department to help in locating David Rothwell of Foster, who had fled into a heavily wooded area after a reported domestic violence incident. Earlier attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful.
Officer Aaron Steere and K-9 Garry responded to the scene and joined members of the Foster Police Department and Scituate Police Departments. Upon arrival, Officer Steere and K-9 Garry were deployed to conduct a systematic search of the densely wooded terrain.
K-9 Garry successfully located Rothwell hiding near a large fallen tree. Rothwell was taken into custody by assisting officers without further incident or injury to anyone involved.
