CUMBERLAND – Representatives from the town of Cumberland and its Parks and Recreation Department say they are excited to invite residents and visitors to the fourth annual Cumberland Community Celebration, taking place at Diamond Hill Park this Saturday, Aug. 8.
This free community event will begin at 4 p.m. and feature an evening of food, entertainment, family activities, and fireworks concluding at 9 p.m.
The celebration has quickly become one of Cumberland’s signature summer traditions, bringing together neighbors, local businesses, and community organizations for an evening of fun in one of the town’s most scenic parks, say officials.
“I’m thrilled that we’re able to bring the Cumberland Community Celebration back for its fourth year,” said Mayor Jeff Mutter. “This is always a great day with something for the whole family. Besides, what better way to celebrate Cumberland than coming together for some fun at Diamond Hill Park?”
Attendees can expect to enjoy 15-plus food trucks offering a variety of cuisines, along with a beverage station hosted by Good Vibes Beverages, serving beer, wine, and other refreshments. More than 40 local artisan vendors, curated by Juicy Market, will showcase handmade goods, artwork, specialty products, and other unique offerings from businesses throughout the area.
Families will find plenty to enjoy throughout the evening with obstacle courses, bounce houses, yard games, and rides aboard the Diamond Hill Express train, in addition to the park’s popular pump track and open spaces perfect for setting up lawn chairs and picnic blankets and enjoying the live entertainment.
Music for the evening will feature performances by The Superchief Trio, The Teledynes, and TJ and the Campers.
The evening will culminate with what officials are describing as a spectacular fireworks show at dusk.
The event is produced in partnership with PVD Food Truck Events, whose team has helped make the Cumberland Community Celebration and summer food truck nights a highlight of the season year after year, said Mutter.
Admission is free, with attendees simply paying for any food and beverages they choose to purchase. Food vendors will accept cash, credit, and debit cards, and no tickets are required.
The Cumberland Community Celebration is the replacement event for the former CumberlandFest, a multi-day event held for three decades before it ran its course.
Smoking, vaping and e-cigarettes are prohibited. Guests are not permitted to bring their own coolers with alcohol. Pets are not encouraged (fireworks).
Food trucks include Smashed & Sauced by Alaina’s, Big Dog Eats, Bird’s Nest Italian Street Food, Blount Clam Shack Food Truck, Chicked Out Nuggz, Del’s Lemonade, Dr. Doughboys, Friskie Fries, Good Vibes Beverages, Kroffle Kreations, La Loncherita Food Truck, Mac N Cheese Please Mobile, Off the Road BBQ, Shawarma Brothers, Turner Bros., Twisted Churros, Wagu’s Flavor Mix, and What’s Up Cupcake.
