SMITHFIELD – Kathy Gaidimas announced her candidacy for Smithfield Town Council as part of a united Republican team that includes Rachel Toppi, Michael Iannotti, Bobby Nikolopoulos, and Ken Sousa.
“I am honored to be running alongside such a talented and dedicated group of candidates,” she said in a release. “Throughout this campaign, we have worked together as a team, sharing ideas and supporting one another as we focus on serving the residents of Smithfield. Each of us brings unique skills and experience, creating a well-balanced team prepared to address the challenges and opportunities facing our town.”
Together, the candidates have adopted the name The Good Government Team, reflecting their shared commitment to seven guiding principles:

- Accountability without excuses
- Tax dollars focused on essential services
- Responsible budgeting for long-term stability
- Advocacy for seniors and working families
- Growth that protects Smithfield’s character

Gaidimas said she brings extensive experience as a human resources professional and small business owner.
Throughout her career, she said, she has focused on building strong teams, solving complex problems, and delivering meaningful results while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
“Leadership begins with listening, working collaboratively, and doing what is right for the community,” she said. “I would be honored to represent the residents of Smithfield and bring my professional experience and commitment to good government to the Town Council.”
