NORTH SMITHFIELD – As early voting and mail-in balloting progress across Rhode Island, Town Council candidate Paul Jones is delivering his final pitch to North Smithfield voters, outlining a practical, community-first vision focused on civil leadership and town-wide results.

Having surpassed his initial voter-contact goals by reaching more than 2,000 doorsteps across North Smithfield this election season, Jones said, he’s emphasizing that his campaign is built on direct communication, active listening, and proven municipal experience.

“Talking with neighbors across town over these past few months has reaffirmed why I’m running,” he said.

“North Smithfield isn’t just where I live; it’s where my wife grew up, where we are raising our daughter, and where I run my business.”

He added, “Our neighbors are clear about what they want: practical, collaborative leadership at Town Hall that leaves political drama behind and gets real work done for our families.

Jones said he brings a strong record of public service to the race, having served on the North Smithfield School Committee, on the Fire & Rescue Board, and as chairperson of the Economic Development Commission.

In his closing message to voters, he highlighted enhancing senior services at Scouters Hall, transforming the Halliwell property into a public recreation space, and improving transparency and proactive planning for town tax dollars.

“When you look at Scouters Hall or Halliwell, these aren’t just properties on a map, they represent how we care for our seniors, our kids, and our taxpayers,” he said. “I’m ready to hit the ground running on day one with a practical, open-door approach to getting these projects done.”

Jones urged residents to make their voices heard by voting by mail, voting early, or voting at the polls on Election Day.

“Good governance isn’t about soundbites or ‘us versus them’ politics. It requires preparation, active listening, and respect for our volunteer boards and residents,” he said.

“I am ready to bring my work ethic, experience, and an open mind to the Town Council to make life better for every family in North Smithfield.”
