Antique store in Burrillville goes up for sale

BURRILLVILLE – The Village Barn Country Store, a longtime antique store at 953 Victory Highway in the Mapleville section of town, is now up for sale.

Listed by Scott McGee, of RE/MAX properties, the property in a mostly residential area has so much potential, said McGee, whether to take over the business as the current antique store, as apartments, or to make it a restaurant or cafe.

The owners are retiring, said McGee, and they’ve listed the property for $675,000.

Owners Kevin and Kathy Brand have decorated the store for each season, and the family-owned store has long been a spot to find antique furniture, handmade goods, kitchenware, and gifts.

It rests on a .77-acre lot, covers 6,556 square feet, and contains 1.5 baths and one bedroom.

This is a mixed-use building with one apartment currently and potential to add more and make the property fully residential.

“Step into a rare opportunity to own a thriving antique shop in the heart of a charming country setting,” states the listing. “This beautifully maintained 6,000-square-foot property blends historic character with modern updates, offering both retail and residential potential.”

The expansive showroom, it adds, “is filled with warmth and craftsmanship, featuring thoughtfully renovated interiors, updated electrical systems, and energy-efficient blown-in insulation. Pride of ownership is evident throughout every detail of this turnkey property-being sold fully stocked with inventory, making it ready for immediate operation.”

Additional highlights include town sewer connection, well, and a “well-appointed one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in the lower level-perfect for owner occupancy, rental income, or on-site management.”

The main level includes half bath/laundry room. A newer Viessmann boiler ensures efficient heating, “while the inviting setting and established presence make this a standout destination for loyal customers and passersby alike. Don’t miss this unique chance to own a piece of local charm with built-in income potential and endless possibilities.”
