NORTH SMITHFIELD – First responders rescued a driver after they drove their pickup truck off the Railroad Street Bridge and outlet from the Slatersville Reservoir on Tuesday.
According to an emergency call, the truck was in the vicinity of the bridge. Responders initially said the driver was possibly unresponsive, but quickly determined that they were awake and alert.
There were some initial concerns about the current, but it was soon reported that the water was only knee-deep and a boat wouldn’t be needed.
