PAWTUCKET – In the three-way primary for City Council District 1, David Moran scored less than 50 percent of the vote but still had plenty of support to defeat two challengers, Crisolita Figueiredo and Tyler McFeeters.
Moran, the 30-year incumbent, had 42.87 percent of the total, or 523 total votes, to 372 votes for Figueiredo, or 30.49 percent, and 325 votes for Tyler McFeeters, or 26.64 percent.
For School Committee, six of seven incumbent Democrats won, while newcomer Jennifer Bustamante took the last spot int he primary. Former Chairperson Omar Reyes came in last and out of the race, with 11.33 percent of the vote, just behind Bustamante’s 11.57 percent.
Those seven primary winners will now go on to the general election in November and face one challenger.
