WOONSOCKET – On May 9, four volunteer members of the Friends of Oak Hill Cemetery took to historic Capron Cemetery in Woonsocket to remove more diseased trees as future safety hazards. The work protects volunteers and the integrity of historic gravestones, they said.

Volunteers, including Zachary Cote, Ed Harriman, Andy Cote, and Gregory Duhamel, did an incredible job removing four tall trees, despite the rain, said members of the group. Harriman and Cote are trained professionals.

Harriman and Duhamel posted about free wood, and within an hour, everything except the brush was gone from the site on Cumberland Hill Road.
