NORTH PROVIDENCE – As a member of the North Providence School Committee for 28 years, says Frank Pallotta, he is pleased to announce his candidacy for re-election.
“I want to thank the voters of District 1 and the entire community for their continued support,” the chairperson said in a release. “As an educator for 56 years serving as a teacher, principal, special education director, assistant superintendent and 15 years as a superintendent, I will be honored to continue to serve and support our students and staff. My guiding factor as an educator for 56 years has always been to make decisions in the best interest of students.”
As a longtime School Committee member and chairperson of the North Providence School Committee, he said they have accomplished the following:
• The building of four new elementary schools and a new administration building;
• The town will receive 60-80 percent state reimbursement, saving taxpayers millions of dollars over multiple years.
• The School Committee collaborating with the administration and staff implemented quality curriculum and resources in English, language arts, math and science;
• Improved student attendance for K-12;
• Creating new in-district programs and resources for students with special needs;
• Teachers trained in the “Right to Read Act” for students with dyslexia;
• And a remodeled high school auditorium, middle and high school cafeterias, gymnasiums and library media centers.
“My commitment to providing every student with the opportunity to be successful is unwavering. School improvement never ends, and will always be a complex process because it is constantly evolving,” he said. “We need to support our schools’ capacity to manage change for the benefit of our students. “
Added Pallotta, “your continued support would be greatly appreciated. I would be honored to continue to serve our students, their families, staff, and the community.”
