LINCOLN – Police have arrested Providence resident Steven Lugo for shooting at someone during an incident of road rage.
On June 13, around 7:15 p.m., police responded to gunshots in the area of Angell Road and Leslie Way. They determined on arrival that someone had shot a gun.
A suspect description was then sent to surrounding agencies, and Providence police then stopped Lugo. He was taken into custody without incident, according to a release.
Lugo is being charged with drive-by shooting, four counts of child endangerment, carrying a gun without a license, carrying a gun while under the influence, firing a weapon in a compact area, and disorderly conduct.
Lincoln police thanked Providence officers for their swift response, which they said led to the swift capture of Lugo.
Police said they currently believe this was an isolated incident of road rage, and there is no ongoing threat. Patrol units will continue to maintain a presence in the area as the investigation continues.
