A & W in Smithfield looks to sell fireworks, toys

SMITHFIELD – A & W, 460 Putnam Pike, is looking to add new offerings to its existing list of items for sale.

According to a an application for an amendment to an existing peddler’s license on the Sept. 15 Town Council agenda, Stephanie Mosca has applied to amend the existing peddler’s license for A & W of Rhode Island Inc. 

The restaurant would add novelty toys and fireworks to an existing peddler’s license allowing them to sell flowers, plants, and Christmas trees.

License Coordinator Carol Banville is recommending approval of the amendment, subject to compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances.

The Smithfield A & W is known for being the longest-running carhop in Rhode Island. Guests are invited to drive in, relax, and turn the lights on for service. Monday specials are five burgers for $19.99.
