Nikolopoulos running for brighter and safer Smithfield

SMITHFIELD – Haralabos “Bobby” Nikolopoulos, candidate for Smithfield Town Council on the Good Government Team of Professionals, says he is leveraging his complex engineering background, management experience, and analytical problem-solving skills to help guide Smithfield toward a stronger future.

Nikolopoulos said he envisions a safe, vibrant community where children can play outside free of danger, homeowners feel secure leaving their doors open, seniors comfortably remain in the town they built while passing down community knowledge, and where residents from all walks of life can happily thrive together.

“Solving our immediate problems is imperative. Smithfield has boundless potential to serve as an example of excellence for all of Rhode Island. We cannot let past missteps continue to hold us back from prospering,” he said in a release. “With disciplined leadership this upcoming year, we can deliver real and lasting results quickly. I want Smithfield to be a place where people do more than put down roots: I want it to be a community where everyone flourishes into the best versions of themselves.”

Nikolopoulos said he is committed to addressing the town’s outstanding financial and operational liabilities, establishing a transparent foundation to ensure long-term stability and growth for all residents.

Nikolopoulos is a Republican candidate running for the Smithfield Town Council on the Good Government Team of Professionals, which includes two incumbents, Michael Iannotti and Rachel Toppi.

“Grounded in transparent leadership, fiscal sanity, and neighborhood protections, the team is dedicated to preserving Smithfield’s unique rural-suburban character while delivering accountable resident-first municipal governance for residents in all phases of life,” he said.
