David A. Lovett Sr., 63, of Woonsocket, died July 13, 2026, in his home. He was the husband of Linda (Andrews) Lovett, whom he married Feb. 14, 1992. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Michael F. and Patricia (Freitas) Lovett.

David was a graduate of North Smithfield High School and Rhode Island College. He worked as a dispatcher for Dennis K. Burke, Inc. He loved watching sports, soap operas, and Hallmark movies with Linda. In his youth, he was an exceptional hockey player. He also coached his children’s sports teams and chaperoned many field trips. David previously served on the North Smithfield Town Council.

Besides his wife, Linda, he leaves their children, David A. Lovett, Jr. (DJ) and his wife, Joanna, of Cumberland and Lauren Lovett and her husband, Benjamin Moran, of Smithfield; two sisters, Kim Sulfaro (Michael) and Jerilyn Kozlik, both of North Smithfield; his sister-in-law Lisa Doherty (Chuck) of North Smithfield, his brother-in-law David Andrews (Anne) of Cranston; his grandson, Arrow Lombard of Cranston; his in-laws, Sally Stubbs of Woonsocket and Daniel J. and Janice Andrews of New Hampshire; Linda’s aunt, Carol Hadfield, of Burrillville; many nieces and nephews; his granddogs, Lola and Leo, and his faithful dog, Libby. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael F. Lovett, Jr., and his brother-in-law, Daniel J. Andrews, Jr.

His visitation will be held Sunday, July 26, from 1-3 p.m., followed by a service at 3 p.m. in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Homeless Animals RI, c/o Karen Hogan, FOHARI Treasurer, 226 Indian Trail, Saunderstown, RI 02874.
