Efrain Espinosa

Efrain Espinosa, 28, of Woonsocket, died Aug. 5, 2026. Efraín was born in the Bronx NY, to Nilcys Benitez and Edgar Espinosa.

He had such a big heart and was so sweet and kind to everyone he interacted with. Always willing to help no matter what it was. He graduated from Nowell Academy in 2017. One of the happiest moments of his life was the birth of his son Giovanni Jose (Gio), who was born in the year 2013 and who he deeply loved. His passion was in learning and exploring. Known for his endless curiosity, Efraín was always asking questions, reading deeply and seeking to understand the world around him. He was a passionate gamer and an enthusiastic fan of both Marvel and DC universe. Spiderman was his favorite superhero. He found joy in worlds where good triumphs evil. He held a deep, lifelong fascination with the world’s religions and the ancient stories of Greek mythology. Efraín loved looking for the deeper meanings, lessons, and connections in everything, often sharing his findings with family and friends.

Besides his parents, Nilcys and Edgar, and his son, Gio, he leaves his brother, Edgar Espinosa, Jr., and his sister, Elizabet Espinosa.

A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 21, 2026 from 7-8:30 p.m. in Grace International Church, 370 North Main St., Woonsocket. His funeral was held Aug. 22 at the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial followed in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield.
