CUMBERLAND – As of Monday, says Denise Mudge of Franklin Farm, they and their faithful volunteers have harvested 9,494 pounds of produce for people who are food insecure.
On Monday evening, they had 52 volunteers help pick zucchini, summer squash, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers and green beans. Helpers of many different ages were helping along with volunteers from Progreso Latino and Southeast Asia Center. Both were picking up veggies for their agencies.

The following are the agencies that receive vegetables on a rotating schedule from Franklin Farm:
Connecting Children & Families
Center for SE Asians
Northern RI Food Pantry
Salvation Army of Pawtucket
Pawtucket Soup Kitchen
Blackstone Valley Emergency Food Center
Progreso Latino
Manville Share Shack
Feed RI – HOPE Market
House of Compassion
Organizers are inviting people to come be a part of a movement unlike any other in Rhode Island.
