LINCOLN – A new electronic sign outside of the town’s municipal offices on Old River Road will get a lot of use and be a resource for getting information out to the community, says Town Administrator Phil Gould.
He told The Local Insider that the sign was funded as part of the new Rescue Center and Learning Center construction next door at 100 Old River Road.
Having the sign outside of Town Hall will allow town staff to use it for all sorts of messages, said Gould, including announcing town business they want passersby to know about and new activities at the learning center.
In the past, he said, they would use billboards with manually inserted letters, he said, but there’s so much now happening on the municipal campus, they want to effectively and efficiently be able to keep up to speed on all of it.
The sign as a “centralized information center” will serve all municipal facilities, including the DPW, Water Department, Rescue Center, and Learning Center, said Gould, but they felt in front of of Town Hall was the best location. They’ll post everything from early voting information to storm information, said the administrator.
