PAWTUCKET – Candidate for Pawtucket School Committee David Fargnoli is beginning his 2026 campaign by focusing on areas in city schools and the education offered within them, which he said are in need of improvement.

Fargnoli is running as a moderate conservative Republican candidate in the general election Nov. 3.

Areas of concern for Fargnoli are as follows, according to a campaign release:

Don Grebien

• Teacher, school and department administrative transparency when communicating with parents and guardians that have questions, brings concerns or dispute to school or department administrators.

• Removal of the “multiple outside PAC groups infiltrating Pawtucket schools, pushing their beliefs, causing division and distracting students and teachers from focusing on the daily education of Pawtucket students.”

• Urgent focus toward handling the deteriorating infrastructure and safety issues currently existing at both Pawtucket high schools.

• An increased concentration on the appropriate handling and availability of accommodations for special needs students.

• Improvements in the long-term handling of the physical safety and mental well-being of all students, teachers and administrators that is currently lacking in Pawtucket schools.

• An increased focus on core academic subjects, such as math, English, history, science and social studies, computer studies, etc. to combat the academic loss due to Rhode Island’s “broken educational blueprint that is currently being utilized in Pawtucket schools,” while also helping to increase Pawtucket’s academic standing, along with State RICAS testing results.

• The return of basic life skills into the Pawtucket school curriculum. Life skills such as, trade and tech skills, basic financial life planning, banking basics, and homecare/making are examples.
