North Providence council will consider licenses for The Game House, Cook & Dagger, others

NORTH PROVIDENCE – The North Providence Town Council, at its meeting Wednesday night, Nov. 4, will consider several license requests, including a limited liquor license for The Game House, recently opened as a board game cafe at 1726 Smith St.

Opened two months ago, owners of The Game House originally said they would be serving coffee, tea, hot chocolate and snacks to start out.

The business, now operating in the former David’s Furniture space, is also applying for a new victualing license to prepare food.

The council will also consider a liquor license transfer from SR Management LLC, doing business as The Centredale, 2031 Smith St., to TACK LLC Cook & Dagger, as well as and victualing and entertainment licenses for Cook & Dagger.

The restaurant owners announced in September that they would be taking over the former Centredale Revival space located across from their already new location.

The uniquely-shaped building at 2031 Smith St. is found where the eastern end of Mineral Spring Avenue starts at Smith Street. It was at one time home to a retail and general store called Winkleman & Finkelstein, or affectionately just Winks and Finks for short.

The council on Wednesday will also consider:

• An outdoor license for Chew and Brew, 2009 Smith St.

• A victualing license for Moon Espresso Cafe, 1527 Smith St.

• And a victualing license for Domino’s, 1744 Mineral Spring Ave.
